The Palladium world is on a quite low technological level¸ about the same as the middle ages of our world. There are many different races struggling for power¸ and war or conspiracies are nothing unusual. Although the human race is the major power in this world¸ the Wolfen¸ a race composed of humanoid giant wolves¸ are on their way to global conquest. Once seperated into many tribes constantly at war with each other the Wolfen masterminds incited a successful unification years ago¸ and the Wolfen Empire grew in the Northern Wilderness¸ unnoticed by proud mankind. Lately many border disputes have broken out¸ particularly at the border to the Eastern Territory¸ and soon this conflict may become an outright war. Besides this conflict there are many others that could give the characters opportunity enough to be occupied for a lifetime¸ even for an elf that might get 600 years old. The (so-called) gods themselves¸ super-powerful transdimensional beings¸ have their plots in the world of mortals¸ and the best heroes are likely to easily invoke the wrath of the most evil and abominable of them. ... - the dark and the light. Edition is an English Role-Playing Game¸ so I hope you don't mind that I write the description of the game in English. If you aren't able to understand the description¸ you wont be able to understand the Game either. ;-) The Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Game is a game of heroic and epic adventure and High Fantasy where the players impersonate a member of a certain race and occupation; and not just anybody - as the player characters advance in experience it becomes clear that these characters are above the norm¸ that they are favoured by destiny; they are heroes with the power to influence and to shape the world. It is these heroes that the Palladium RPG is all about. These characters may be an elf¸ a dwarf¸ kobold¸ gnome¸ just about everything one can imagine¸ or simply human. Their professions would be many and various - mercenary¸ thief¸ ranger¸ knight¸ priests etc. - even wizards or warlocks¸ because in the Palladium world magic is alive and powerful. The whole world is criss-crossed by magic energy lines (the so-called Ley Lines)¸ and simple or even more powerful magic is commonplace. These characters walk the Palladium world and¸ depending on their alignments and motivations¸ right wrongs¸ hunt treasures or convicted criminals¸ sell themselves as mercenaries¸ protect innocents¸ slay demons and monsters¸ participate in wars - the possibilities are endless¸ and since neither character nor player is ever exactly the same as they both advance in experience¸ the game is possibly always exciting and fun (although this is true with most RPGs).
The Second Edition Palladium Fantasy RPG is a dramatically revised and updated second edition of the original fantasy game rules - the first significant revision since its release in 1983.
