Big Eyes¸ Small Mouth
Ein Rollenspielsystem¸ speziell auf japanische Animes zugeschnitten. A universal Japanese anime role-playing game¸ intended to cover subgenres from giant mecha to romantic comedy. It has a very simple system (the ""Tri-Stat"" system) with three attributes and ads/disads -- the base game has no skills. Action resolution is by 2d6 against modified attribute. The 2nd edition incorporated skill rules¸ lots of advantages/disadvantages¸ and mecha rules into the core rulebook. - A description from https://darkshire.net/jhkim/rpg/encyclopedia/ with kind permission of John H. KimBESM is inspired by the dynamic settings and stories found in a wide range of anime shows¸ allowing players to create characters from any genre or sub-genre. Comedy or horror¸ fantasy or science-fiction¸ mecha action or passionate romance...if you can image it¸ you can play it. The game features an updated version of the popular and easy-to-learn Tri-Stat System (d6) rule mechanics¸ which includes expanded sections on magic¸ mecha¸ supernatural abilities¸ skills¸ and much more.
Big Eyes¸ Small Mouth bills itself as a Universal Japanese Anime Roleplaying Game and it does indeed live up to that claim. Everything you need to create anime characters and run them in a game...except for a setting to run them in. The rules are elegant¸ easy to learn and so flexible. The Tri Stat System uses only three stats: Body¸ Mind and Soul. Points are allocated by rolling 2D6¸ adding 10 and splitting them among the stats. No stat can be lower that 1 or higher than 12 and only one stat can be at 12. Next comes attributes¸ defects¸ possesions and you have a completed character. Just add some character concept and background info and you are ready to rock and roll.
Two-time Origins Award nominated multi-genre Japanese anime RPG.
