Ein Rollenspiel über Verrückte. In Amerika (und überall anders auch) ist der Wahnsinn ausgebrochen¸ nachdem sich die Sonnen auf Grund eines nicht näher definierten Übernatürlichen Ereignisses verdunkelten. Man hat darauf hin eine Irrenanstalt in der Größe eines Staates aufgebaut in dem die normaleren¸ bewacht von weniger verrückten¸ um ihr überleben kämpfen.
A horror game set 150 years in the future where everyone is insane after an biological disaster that darkened the skies with mutant spores. The majority of the world's population lives in Wards: city-sized secure areas where the population of inmates is fed¸ watched¸ and treated by the Warden. The mechanics are a simple skill-based system¸ which uses colored marbles instead of dice: draw out two marbles from a bag of 10 (2 each of 5 colors). The colors map onto numbers 1-5¸ but for various charts the individual colors matter. Enter the World of Asylum¸ where the United States has been reduced to a collection of walled Wards¸ built from former cities and surrounded by desolate Wastelands. The Sun has been gone for over a hundred years¸ hidden from view by the airborne algae known as Blanket Seed. And everyone has gone mad. Those in the Wards are called Inmates¸ and they are cared for by the Staff and watched over by the Orderlies¸ who are as insane as the Inmates. Fight for your survival in the violence-prone streets or up on the Beltway. Pnder who you really are¸ and whether any of the people nearby can be trusted. Try to eke out a living with your Occupation¸ welling your wares or your services in the bazaar-like Mall. But¸ most of all¸ whether you revel in it or despise it¸ accept the truth -- the world is no longer sane¸ no longer ordered¸ no longer normal.
