Lighting It Up - An Encounter for Twilight 2000
After Kalisz all we wanted to do was get the hell out of there. The LT bought it soon after we headed out in the pre-dawn the day after the Soviets' final big assault. Sniper.
But as we ran¸ we kept seeing convoys of fuel tankers heading into Kalisz. The Russians were regrouping and refuelling. That meant they were either pushing on to Germany to the West or coming after survivors like us. Probably both. Either way¸ it wasn't a pretty thought.
What clinched it was when we hit one of the tankers we caught by itself. God knows why they were alone. Anyway¸ after we took it out and went down to scavenge what we could¸ that's when we found out they were hauling gasoline. Real gasoline.
That meant anyone coming after us could get the jump on us. We had to do something.
Lighting It Up is an encounter for Free League's Twilight 2000. It gives a group of players the chance to strike back at the Soviet counter-offensive after Operation Reset¸ but can be set at any time and location of the Referee's choosing¸ in either Poland or Sweden.
Careful planning and great timing will be needed for success. But for those who dare¸ the damage to the Soviet advance will be significant!
