Welcome to the first issue of The Black Sheep War Journal¸ a quarterly zine for the 4th edition of Twilight: 2000. Future issues will be longer and will hopefully feature professional art. The success of this issue will fund the subsequent issue. Anyway¸ what is in this issue? FRAGO talks about some small aspects of military culture that either provide context for other articles in the issue or are just interesting to know about. This issue¸ we discuss the elusive warrant officer. Each issue will include a BALLCAPS & BEARDS article¸ presenting some background on special operations forces (SOF) that are likely to appear in your Twilight: 2000 games based in Poland and Sweden. Army Special Forces is first up¸ as well as a discussion of SOF missions and what makes them different than conventional forces. MOS TRAINING will give some thoughts on how to make characters that are a little more targeted to specific Army branches. Finally¸ TROOPS IN CONTACT provides encounters and characters that can be inserted into your game. Keeping with the theme of Special Forces in this issue¸ we present ODA-146¸ a group of Green Berets with mysterious motives that can be used in either Poland or Sweden.
