The Yeti only look like the legendary Abominable Snowmen said to inhabit Earth's highest peaks. In reality¸ they're the product of an experiment in human survival conducted by a now-vanished advanced race thousands of years ago. The experiment was undoubtedly a success¸ since the Yeti went on to conquer their harsh world and take their place among the stars along with the interstellar government's other sophonts.
Players of Cepheus Engine and the Original Science Fiction Roleplaying Game can now take on the role of one of these hardy individuals from a frozen planet. Lifeform Reading: Yeti introduces a race that has the ability to survive the worst an arctic environment can throw at them¸ yet suffer in shirt-sleeve environments. They prefer large crowds¸ but quickly reject anyone they view as useless. They can interbreed with other humans¸ but look little like them.
