Dossier: VTT Tristan & Trixane Halvern
Meet the Mad Twins... We couldn't tell what the Colonel and the Arixan were talking about. Judging by their wild gesturing¸ it wasn't good. I glanced around the table. Vajra was uncharacteristically quiet¸ staring down into her drink with both hands as she stared down into it. Berlin sipped his kaff with a worried look on his face. I didn't try to fathom what was running through their minds. Probably¸ like mine¸ it was nothing good. The Arixan left and the Colonel made his way back to our table¸ muttering curses under his breath. He shook his head and took a long swallow of his drink before meeting our questioning gazes. "The good news is¸ there's someone who knows where that missing cargo is¸" he started. Then he shuddered - something he only did twice since I'd known him. And this was the second time. He took a moment before finishing: "The bad news is¸ that ‘someone' is the Halverns. And apparently¸ they're due insystem tomorrow." Now we all shuddered. Tristan and Trixane Halvern are children of a disgraced noble who¸ after a series of social¸ political¸ and emotional setbacks¸ decided that they could only trust - and love - one another. Turning their rage outward¸ they became interstellar pirates¸ striking fear into the hearts of star merchants with a combination of volcanic rage and ice-cold calculation. Considered borderline mad by polite interstellar society¸ the two have vowed that the universe will burn before they're separated by either distance or death. Referees who need an adversary for their own band of galactic heroes need look no further than this first offering in the Dossier series for 2D6 games such as Cepheus Engine or the Original Science Fiction Roleplaying Game (OSFRPG.) The file offers a brief character sketch¸ a physical description¸ personality sketches¸ character stats usable for CE and the OSFRPG¸ and suggestions for using these mad twins in the Referee's own universe.
