Dentus¸ Regina Subsector¸ Spinward Marches 2201

Dentus has a population of approximately 9¸850¸000 sophonts¸ lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a temperate world¸ with a climate of average temperatures. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Regina Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Dentus¸ as a member world of the Third Imperium¸ holds the estate of an Imperial knight¸ a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base¸ capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. The world has a tainted atmosphere due to the volcanic activity. There is a minor race here known as the Racconid who make up approximately 89% of the population.

Kiiayorl and Alekyhaiori are bases for several Aslan marine units currently serving with the Imperial Navy. There is extensive training and supply infrastructure as well as villages for dependants. Currently the facility supports a Brigade of mechanised infantry¸ approximately 2800 plus dependants. At anyone time there are one or two battalions on rest and refit here.

Donovans is a religious community run by the Church of the Holy Hand. They believe that the preserved hand they have in their cathedral is the hand of Saint Donovan¸ patron saint of the poor and dispossessed in the New Catholic Church. The community is open to anyone who wishes to stay there however they must relinquish all worldly goods.

Mount Stellin and Mount Carrington are active volcanoes that have been spewing poisonous gasses into the atmosphere for millennia leaving the planet with a permeant taint. Most sophonts will have to wear masks or be modified to breathe the air for an extended time frame.

Frostbite is a remote mining operation run by Northern Metals PLC. The climate is brutal with temperatures never above freezing. Minerals are refined on site and transported to orbit by mass driver to be picked up by bulk hauler.

High Range is a high-tech mercenary training facility specialising in counter insurgency and close protection. The facility stretches across most of North Dangar and has live fire ranges for training with various weaponry. High Range is contracted to provide entrance courses for several elite units.

Dentus is home to a variable population of Vargyr refugees that have settled the Ragar Islands¸ currently there are around one hundred thousand set up in small villages along the coastline. Living conditions are rough but several Vargyr and Imperial charities are delivering supplies.

There are many ex soldiers who have fought on the wrong side in one of the many Vargyr conflicts and some of those conflicts have arrived on Dentus as well. There has been several interventions from the IISS into spats between rival Vargyr clans that haven't amounted to much but do have the humans on the planet concerned about the safety of the rest of the Vargyr attempting to survive under difficult circumstances.

The Racconid are a minor race with colouring and body shape like terran Raccoons. They live across the planet in villages based around clans or extended family units¸ they are roughly tech level 10 but vary immensely. Racconind average about 1.5 meters tall and are extremely strong due to the gravity on Dentus. Their curiosity as a race has seen large numbers leave the planet to make their fortune amongst the stars.

They are particularly hostile to Vargyr and native Racconid do not like intruders into their village life¸ an invite is always necessary. Their natural curiosity and strength have seen many become engineers or mechanics off world¸ they have a reputation as excellent problem solvers but their interpersonal skills with
