100 Hooks and Rumours to Hear in or about the Solomani Rim

When asking around in the spaceport bar or anywhere else¸ Travellers may overhear rumours about events on other worlds. They may be insuring about a different matter entirely and stumble across additional information by accident. This supplement has 100 rumours that Travellers could hear. They can be used as misdirection¸ background information or as potential adventure hooks. The rumours in this supplement primarily cover the Solomani Rim.

Supreme President Leo Duprey¸ the dictator of Jardin in the same subsector of the Solomani Rim¸ has been attempting to expand the influence that Jardin¸ and therefore himself¸ have in the subsector. There are rumours that he's been infiltrating agents into worlds in other subsectors to gradually spread Jardin's influence beyond its current subsector¸ and he may have his eyes on the Confederation as a whole. Thamber in the Ultima subsector of the Solomani Rim has supposedly converted from the Solomani Movement¸ but there's always been suspicion that this conversion is more fiction than fact. There are rumours that former SolSec agents now control parts of the government¸ and that they are opening up lines of communication to other agents still in the Confederation¸ presumably to further the goals of the Solomani Party. The asteroid belt in the Sol System was settled several thousand years ago as a base for scientific research and mining¸ and there are rumours that hidden somewhere within the belt are hidden bases belonging to the Solomani Confederation¸ or perhaps even older. However¸ if this is the case¸ such bases would probably need active management to ensure they remain hidden¸ though asteroids with more elliptical orbits are less visited. The government of Scaramouche in the Harlequin subsector of the Solomani Rim effectively fell to pieces after an anti-Imperial rebellion was crushed and the Imperium withdrew from governance. The world has since been Amber Zoned¸ and it's rumoured that piracy in and around the system has increased¸ with all attacks being aimed at ships from the Third Imperium. The Wossamotta Plateau on New Greenpernt in the Gemini subsector of the Solomani Rim is home to an Ancients site¸ though the Confederation government has been careful about what information on the site is released. Though it's hardly uncommon for precise details on such sites to be kept quiet¸ the Confederation does seem to be applying far more secrecy than is normally the case¸ suggesting that perhaps they have found something significant.
