Obscured | Core Rules
Obscured is a solo-developed TTRPG set in a modern world filled with cryptids¸ ghosts¸ and all the other Horrors of the night. The Obscured core rules give you all the tools to run or play a brand-new RPG system. Obscured can be played by 2 players (an Overseer and a Hunter) or more.
Obscured gives a new take on classes and RPG expression. Archetypes give players a set of abilities and traits that grow and scale with them as they level up. This makes Obscured especially easy to pick up and play because you don't need to spend time optimizing. In contrast¸ our in-depth weapon systems and the unique ways that archetypes combine leave enough room for players to be creative and make their Hunters their own. It also contains rules to help Overseers to build stand-out opponents with engaging mechanics for players to wrestle with. An emphasis on weaknesses¸ roles¸ and simplicity makes the Horrors of Obscured stand out.
The system also supports more than just combat. Our rules cater to groups that want to research and strategize against their opponents¸ those who prefer to talk their way through their problems¸ and of course¸ the hardcore explorers.

About the Author
This project and all others like it published by Obscurity studio were developed entirely by me¸ Hendro Smit. It was developed on a five year old laptop and a running budget of zero dollars. The "Obscured Core rules" is my first major release and marks the founding of this company. I poured my heart into this one¸ so I hope you guys enjoy it.
