In the thirty years since the advent of enhanced humans with powers and mutation-based abilities¸ the world has had time to adjust to this new reality. People have come accept-and even admire-powered humans and those with capabilities once found only in the realm of science fiction. No one finds it impossible to believe in people that can fly¸ turn into lightning¸ bend steel with their bare hands¸ or read minds. While the public accepts the existence of powers¸ most people remain uncomfortable with certain aspects of this brave new world.
