In ancient times¸ a mighty lizardfolk empire ruled the jungle and its environs. The lizardfolk venerated the sun as a symbol of their deity¸ Semuanya¸ and they built a temple called the Ziggurat of the Wrathful Sun. But the lizardfolk grew too proud¸ and their deity withdrew his greatest blessing - the sun. The empire fell¸ and the lizardfolk descended into barbarism.
"Eventually the sun returned¸ and a shaman of the lizardfolk sought his deity's blessings on behalf of his people once again. His piety was rewarded¸ and now the lizardfolk have once again learned to harness the energy of the sun. From the temple of their ancestors¸ they can turn the sun's destructive power upon their enemies from afar.
"Their first target is Tooj-Reh¸ a human town on the edge of the jungle. The townsfolk have no recourse against the strange light that seems to precede the destruction of their buildings. The patrols they have sent into the jungle to investigate have not returned. Heroes are needed!
