The World of Necronomicon - a Zgrozy supplement
In Lovecraft's universe of cosmic horror¸ mysterious vistas or esoteric names like Cthulhu¸ Nyarlathotep¸ or Yog-Sothoth are the most terrifying to those who already grasp their connection to a greater¸ inhuman reality. Many of Lovecraft's heroes gain this grim awareness from one special book ‐ "Kitab Al Azif" by an Arab poet Abdul Alhazred¸ a tome better known under its translated title "Necronomicon".
The World of Necronomicon is an independent supplement for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition. Inside you'll find:
- A framework for running campaigns in which investigators know the content of the forbidden Necronomicon from the start;
- Ideas on how could the investigators have stumbled upon this blasphemous book and how does it alter roleplaying them and narrating their adventures;
- Optional changes in the rules that can stress important aspects of a World of Necronomicon-inspired campaign;
- Necronomicon-related story seeds and ideas for including clues related to this book into official scenarios;
- A brief and silly translation note on why speaking about reading and Sanity is especially funny in Polish¸ the language this supplement was originally written in.
The World of Necronomicon is the sixth English release in the Zgrozy line. To find out more visit our Facebook page (/ZgrozyEN) or see our other English releases. Further releases will follow soon. "Zgrozy" is a slightly archaic Polish word for "Horrors" or "Terrors." Following advice from English-speaking Cthulhu fans¸ we decided to keep the original title for foreign releases since it sounds suitably unspeakable and blasphemous to non-Polish ears.
By buying The World of Necronomicon¸ you'll receive a full-color version of the scenario and a printer-friendly version without graphic elements¸ both of which come in two different formats to help ensure ease of use and readability across multiple devices. As a bonus you'll also receive two audio files with the Polish pronunciation of the word "Zgrozy"¸ one of them calm and one slightly terrified.
