25 Items of Weird News
This is a collection of 25 news stories. The stories range from tabloid tales to items in respectable broadsheets and those in between¸ such as local newspapers. These could be found by characters when reading recent newspapers or digging through the archives either in a printed form or¸ later¸ in electronic¸ perhaps whilst looking for something in particular¸ or perhaps whilst just looking for clues. They can be used as red herrings when characters are looking for other information¸ or as a source of adventure hooks. Locations or other names¸ if given¸ should be changed to something appropriate for the campaign.
The news items as presented could have supernatural¸ esoteric or weird elements¸ or they could have perfectly rational explanations that do not involve anything odd¸ from natural¸ but previously unknown¸ creatures¸ ordinary human villainy or the use of recreational substances.
The different stories could be made to resemble actual newspaper clippings and printed out for players. Two suitable fonts for making the stories resemble news clippings are OldNewspaperTypes font for the headline and Scotch Roman MT Std font for the body. Once the stories are formatted¸ they can be printed on newsprint for added realism.
This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Green Fire in the Industrial District
Firefighters were called to an abandoned warehouse in the industrial district after a fire was reported in the early hours of the morning. Those at the scene of the incident reported that the flames were burning green¸ and allegedly more difficult to extinguish than normal. Afterwards¸ investigators stated that there were some uncommon substances stored in the warehouse¸ and sometimes fires do burn with unusual colours due to what is being burnt. However¸ some claimed that the fire's colours were far too unusual to be explained that way¸ as the flames were completely green¸ rather than being green-tinged¸ and no known substances have that effect on flames.
