Doch bevor sie ins Tal des Todes reisen und den Ebon-Turm stürmen kann¸ um sich dem Schatten zu stellen¸ muss die Bestie zuerst die Auserwählten des Schattens besiegen und die uralten Reliquien zurückerobern¸ die diese eifersüchtig bewachen.
Das Spiel
"The Shadow & The Beast" ist ein Rollenspiel für zwei Spieler¸ inspiriert vom klassischen Videospiel "Shadow of the Beast". Ein Spieler steuert die Bestie auf ihrem Weg zum Schatten¸ dem bösen Herrscher¸ der ihr das Leben raubte und sie zu schrecklichen Gewalttaten zwang. Der andere Spieler fungiert als Spielleiter (SL) und steuert die Widersacher des Biests sowie alle anderen Charaktere. Gleichzeitig gestaltet er die Schauplätze der Handlung. Mit einem einfachen 2W6-Würfelsystem¸ das vom Spiel Revenant adaptiert wurde¸ können sowohl Spieler als auch SL die Geschichte mitgestalten¸ während das Biest auf Herausforderungen trifft. Das Spiel kann in einer einzelnen Sitzung gespielt werden¸ in der das Biest gegen die Auserwählten und den Schatten antritt¸ oder zu einer längeren Kampagne erweitert werden¸ in der sich das Biest durch Festungen der Auserwählten oder sogar durch ganze Regionen kämpfen muss¸ die weitreichendere Erzählmöglichkeiten bieten. Das 66-seitige¸ vollständig illustrierte Regelbuch enthält alles¸ was zum Spielen benötigt wird - außer zwei sechsseitigen Würfeln.
Unleash the Beast
Kidnapped as a baby by the forces of darkness and transformed into a savage killing machine¸ the Beast has finally broken free from its master's control. Now it remembers what the Shadow has done to it and it hungers for revenge.
But before it can journey to the Valley of Death and storm the Ebon Tower to confront the Shadow¸ the Beast must first vanquish the Shadow's Chosen and recover the ancient relics they jealously guard.
The Game
The Shadow & the Beast is a two-player roleplaying game inspired by the classic video game Shadow of the Beast . One player controls the Beast as it fights its way toward the Shadow¸ the evil overlord that stole its life and forced it to carry out terrible acts of violence. The other player serves as the Gamemaster (GM)¸ controlling the Beast's adversaries and any other characters while also setting scenes for the action.
Using a simple 2d6 resolution system adapted from the game Revenant ¸ both the player and the GM have the ability to shape the narrative as the Beast confronts challenges. The game can be played in a single session that simply sees the Beast face off against the Chosen and the Shadow¸ or it can be extended into a longer campaign in which the Beast must make its way through fortresses controlled by the Chosen or even through entire regions that present more expansive storytelling opportunities.
The 66 page¸ fully-illustrated rulebook contains everything you need to play aside from a pair of six-sided dice.
