Magicians ist ein Tabletop-Rollenspiel¸ das nicht nur spannende Geschichten wie in Harry Potters "Der Zauberer von Earthsea" oder Lev Grossmans "Die Magier" erzählt¸ sondern dir auch Koreanisch beibringt. In Magicians dreht sich alles um Teenager-Drama¸ Gefühle¸ Hormone und Magie. Lerne eine neue¸ interessante und völlig fremde Sprache sowie die dazugehörige Kultur und Folklore kennen - ganz nebenbei beim Spielen. Neunschwänzige Füchse verführen ihre Opfer und streifen nachts durch Seoul; Dokkaebi durchstreifen die Berghänge¸ während Schüler an einer abgelegenen Schule Magie lernen und dabei alles¸ was sie über die Welt wissen¸ neu entdecken.   • Eine Parallele zwischen dir und deinem Charakter in der Geschichte: Dein Charakter ist ein Schüler an einer Magieschule und beginnt gerade mit dem Erlernen der Magie¸ während du Koreanisch lernst.
  • Ein würfelfreies System für Erfolg und Misserfolg¸ das eine kostenlose Text-to-Speech-App für iOS und Android nutzt. Die korrekte Aussprache der Zielsprache führt zu einem korrekt gewirkten Zauber. Das bedeutet: Je besser du die Zielsprache sprichst¸ desto mächtiger wird dein Charakter im Spiel.

  • A parallel in the fiction between you and your character - your character is a student at a school for magic¸ beginning to learn magic just as you begin to learn Korean.
  • A diceless Failure and Success system that uses a free smartphone text-to-speech application on iOS or Android - correct pronunciation of the target language means a correctly cast spell. This means that as you get better at the target langauges your character also grows in power in the game.
  • A collaborative card mechanic for producing no-prep¸ spontaneous storytelling.
  • A setting that draws from Korean mythology and folklore as well as urban myths and superstitions.
