Once upon a time¸ the world was different. Then¸ Dark Earth was simply called Earth; it was not caught in a neverending night and occupied by monsters hostile to man. Machines worked thanks to energies other than steam. But that was Then. Nearly everything has been forgotten about this wonderful past¸ except the fact that it is long behind man. Today¸ Dark Earth is a battlefield pitting the Shankreatures of darkness against the Runkas of light. Nobody knows if man must chose sides¸ protect the soul of Dark Earth or follow his instinct and try to be master of his own fate. But one thing is sure - mankind must conquer Dark Earth.
