d4 roleplaying game system
A generic role-playing system¸ described as best for modern or future campaigns¸ of relatively short duration. (Longer campaigns may result in the characters becoming too proficient.) Action resolution is a die roll of two four-sided dice¸ the one subtracted from the other and added to a Trait¸ and compared to a Difficulty level. Traits are rated with a 11-step descriptive scale such as Djim is an Outstanding Cook¸ or Jane is a Middling Swimmer. This is similar to the 7-step scale inFudge. Character creation is point-based¸ speding 20 levels (or variable depending on power level) on your character's traits. You may take up to 5 levels of Bad Stuff (standard disadvantages)¸ gaining you that many extra levels to spend on other abilities. - A description fromdarkshire.netwith kind permission of John H. Kim
