Das 2d20-Systemreferenzdokument (2d20 SRD) ist ein kostenloses Toolkit¸ mit dem Entwickler eigene Rollenspiele und Erweiterungen auf Basis des 2d20-Systems erstellen können. Es erläutert alle Kernmechaniken des Systems und ermöglicht es Spieldesignern¸ spannende Spielerlebnisse rund um Modiphius' actionreiches und dramatisches Regelwerk zu gestalten. Das 2d20 SRD dient als zentrale Referenz für den Kern des 2d20-Systems sowie für verschiedene gängige genrespezifische Modifikationen. Es wird sowohl intern von Modiphius-Autoren und -Designern als auch extern von Lizenznehmern und Partnern verwendet. Zudem bildet es die Grundlage für das Community-Content-Programm "2d20 Worldbuilders"¸ dessen Start für Januar 2023 geplant ist. Das 2d20-System ist ein Werkzeugset zum Erstellen und Spielen von Spielen¸ die actionreiche¸ storygetriebene Fiktion nachahmen und zelebrieren. Es entfaltet sein volles Potenzial in Kombination mit einem Setting oder Thema¸ in dem kompetente¸ entschlossene und oft überlebensgroße Protagonisten brenzligen und gefährlichen Situationen begegnen und in denen Zusammenarbeit und Teamwork für den Erfolg unerlässlich sind.Es zielt darauf ab¸ die Handlung der Geschichte mit einem gewissen Maß an spielmechanischen Auswirkungen zu verknüpfen¸ sodass die Ereignisse in der Erzählung direkte Konsequenzen im Spiel haben und umgekehrt. Dabei ist es darauf angewiesen¸ dass Spieler und Spielleiter gleichermaßen aktiv an der Fiktion und dem Spielgeschehen teilnehmen.

The 2d20 SRD serves as a central reference for the "core” of the 2d20 System ¸ as well as several common genre-specific modifications¸ to be used both internally by Modiphius writers and designers¸ and externally by licensees and affiliates. It will also serve as the basis for the community content program - 2d20 Worldbuilders - expected to launch in January 2023.

It aims to pair the action of the story with a degree of mechanical impact¸ so that what happens in the narration has direct consequences in the game¸ and vice versa¸ and relies on players and Gamemaster alike being active participants in both the fiction and the gameplay.
