Switzerland Must Be Conquered
An island of sanity in a sea of evil.. During World War Two Switzerland stood virtually alone as a neutral bastion of normalcy surrounded by the Fascist hordes. Starting with their initial mobilization¸ completed 3 days before the German attack on Poland began¸ Switzerland regularly relied on its well armed citizenry to face down numerous threats of invasion. The various historical 'invastion scares'¸ including the possibility of having to resist Allied violation of the borders in 1944¸ are covered by the various scenarios include in the game. The game also tries to dispel the myth of the "impregnable mountain fortress" as Switzerland is often portrayed. While the Italians certainly would have faced incredible difficulties had they sent their Alpini across the spine of the Alps to support the German hordes¸ Swiss plans acknowledged the relative ease with which the northern half of the country could be overrun.
