Manoeuvre Group Dessert Storm Flank Attack Gulf War 1 (1991) list 6 and 9 to 13

This is the third set of army lists released by Manoeuvre Group. These cover the Allied flank attack through the desert in Gulf War I (1991). It covers the protagonists in the form of the US Heavy Division which included the UK armoured division against the Iraqi infantry¸ Armoured¸ mechanised and Republican armoured divisions. The lists are unique in that they define the organisations used in war¸ the units being split into their warfighting task groups. In addition they cover all the logistics elements and indicate the roles the units take on. This is vital information for those wanting to run a coherent and realistic campaign stretching beyond a single encounter. Although Manoeuvre Group itself is a set of rules for platoon up to a company task group and beyond if infantry fighting is very restricted¸ the divisional organisations are make scenario writing easier as they detail the higher level assets that can be deployed in support of a company task group. In addition many reconnaissance assets are held at divisional level and it is these units that would form blocking forces to slow down attackers while the defenders call up re-enforcements and fully deploy to take-on an aggressor. Therefore the lists enable to players to widen their horizons in terms of scenarios they can set up and explore. If you want to attack a Battalion HQ with specialist forces¸ you know what the battalion HQ consists of. For Manoeuvre Group players¸ full vehicle and weapon specifications are included on separate pages including organic heliborne assets. For none Manoeuvre Group players the vehicle specifications are defined in such a way that the armour values can converted back to basic values for use other rules. The next lists will cover the return to Kuwait by the Kuwaitis there allies.
