Maccabeus - the Jewish revolt against the Seleucids
A Maccabean Campaign Game - Judea 166 BCE to 160 BCE - by Nic Birt
This campaign game is set up for the player to control the Maccabean forces while the Seleucid forces are controlled by a solo 'Ancient Intuition' (AI) system. The campaign was designed to set up campaign battles which could be resolved with miniature battle games using the De Bellis Antiquitatis rules with the campaign map guiding the terrain for each battlefield setup. However¸ the campaign battles can alternatively be resolved within the Maccabeus rules¸ or by using other Ancients wargame rules.
Set-up: A bronze Tax Coin * [* 3d printed or PDF cut-out - both provided] is placed on each space with a village on the map. Three of the seven silver coins * are placed on Jerusalem. The Maccabean army is active and its marker * is placed on the Gophna Hills country space. There is no active Seleucid Army at the start of the game.
