English Civil War Wargame armies DBX style bases
ECW Wargaming armies for use with most current wargaming rules as a substitute for actual figures. Wargame units on DbX type bases for use with most current Powder and shot/ English Civil War Wargaming rules. (Note DbX bases can be used in blocks to make units for most other sets of rules). There are six sheets of counters illustrating New Model Army¸ Scots/ Irish and typical ECW units in red¸ blue and white uniforms¸ with bases shown Cavalry¸ pike shot¸ dragoons and artillery (small¸ medium and large guns + Howitzers). In addition there are units for Cuirassier¸ Border Horse Lancers¸ Clansmen¸ and skirmishers (folorn hope and sharpshooters). THe New Model 'figures' are more uniform in posture and colours to reflect the fact that they did have more standard uniforms. Others have a range of uniform shadees¸ some with buff coats¸ and in differing poses. These are 'manaquin figures' rather than graphic representations. Please take a look at the samples included in the free literature to ensure that they work for you. The counters are alll on bases 40mm wide and 15mm deep for foot¸ and 30mm deep for Cavalry. This allows the construction of blocks of troops suitable for most rules. The illustrated figures are equivalent to looking down at 15mm figures - Ie there are generally four close order troops on a base.
