DENIED ACCESS: Battle for the South China Sea
ACCESS DENIED covers a probable future conflict for control of the South China Sea in a few years. Since 2014¸ China has been creating¸ expanding¸ its military bases in an area that is part of the Philippine's territorial waters. Most of the world's shipping lanes move through this key area and often is patrolled by the USN. China continues to warn ships entering it and transit at their own risk¸ as if they own it. By 2021¸ the Chinese atolls were armed with deadly ASMs and airbases for fighter aircraft. The Chinese warned the USN that their "carrier killer" missiles would sink a flattop. As the game shows via scenarios¸ the war could ignite quite suddenly because one of these days¸ the Chinese will fire on a ship ignoring its warnings.
The game is tactical with individual carriers and ships¸ submarines¸ 30 miles a hex¸ 4 hr. turns¸ aircraft units (each represent 4 AC). Aircraft include F-35¸ F-22¸ F-18¸ ECM¸ Bombers. Detection is key in the game. One 11x17 inch map¸ charts and tables.
