The Secret of Castle Mayr is an investigative scenario for Visions Dark & Dreadful ¸ a role-playing game of Victorian ghost hunting. It is intended for one or more characters and takes two to three hours to complete. Aigner is a small village located deep within the Austrian Alps. It has few residents and even fewer visitors. Each year¸ on the 7th day of July¸ a spectral castle appears on the peak overlooking the village. From dusk until dawn it looms over Aigner¸ fading with first light. The locals have been in awe of this apparition for centuries¸ unaware of its origin. The ruins atop the mountain prove a castle once stood there but not for centuries. Two young boys were last to approach the castle. One did not return. That was ten years ago¸ and no one has dared ascend since. The villagers are too fearful of the apparition to investigate. It is up to the characters to uncover The Secret of Castle Mayr. The Secret of Castle Mayr is designed as a pamphlet.
