Issue 20 (Volume 1) Joey resists leaving the community but he won't let Dan leave alone. Kirk is a member of a loosely organized group that refuses to take the zombie threat seriously. They hunt down zombies for sport and set them on fire. Kirk and others decide to leave the Appalachians because they know that disaster awaits them in this group. Wayne and Albert find themselves forced to watch a family fall to the zombies but realize they would only get themselves killed if they tried to help.
