The Wrecker
![]() |
At the turn of the 16 th century in our history¸ several coastal communities started a horrifying practice to earn money. By lighting large beacons on rocky shores¸ they would lure passing ships to close to the shore and watch them break on the rocks. The next morning the so-called Wreckers would walk the shoreline¸ looting the remains that came to shore. Should a crew member wash ashore¸ they were quickly killed to protect the community. D&D is filled with monsters that can have similar goals to these real people¸ but D&D also has something real Wreckers would never have had to deal with: their victims coming back from the dead. This adventure can be placed in any setting and should prove to be a good challenge for parties between the levels of 4 and 5¸ However¸ it can be nicely paired with Ghosts of Saltmarsh. The adventure is built to simply be a side stop on the road and should wrap itself up nicely after the final battle with Paine.
