In the hill lands of south Poron are the ruins kept by the order of Rhun. Threshold. Shaped like an open eye when seen from above¸ the walls are inlaid with circular arches with runes carved into them. These ruins are the site of an extraordinary event. On the eve of the new year¸ when the moons over Desagril align¸ the arches begin to glow. These planar windows reveal glimpses into the other planes. Observers are able to peer into the four elemental planes and view the surface of the astral sea. They can listen to satyr playing in the woodlands of Tir-Naniontas and gaze upon the heavenly city of Valimen.
While the windows of Threshold allow people and creatures on both sides to see and speak with each other¸ they can't physically pass through them. It has become a belief that seeing into and interacting with the other planes on the eve of the new year will grant good fortune and change in the coming year. Additionally¸ it has been theorized by some mages that with enough arcane power¸ these windows may be capable of becoming true gateways between the planes. No one knows who built Threshold¸ and they don't know the dark secrets hidden within its inner sanctum. As the festivities begin this new year's eve¸ these secrets will be revealed.
