A VACATION IN NORTH CAROLINA!
The Campbell House near Mortimer¸ North Carolina¸ has always been the site of strange happenings and odd occurrences. Now¸ a man from Boston has inherited the house and everything that comes with it.
The Phantom of Wilson Creek and Other Tales includes four Call of Cthulhu Jazz-Age scenarios set between 1925 and 1927¸ three of them taking place at the Campbell House and the fourth taking place at nearby Brown Mountain¸ the location of strange lights reported over the years. The scenarios require only the Call of Cthulhu Keeper Handbook with all other resources included within.
The Phantom of Wilson Creek and Other Tales was originally published as a Miskatonic University Library Association monograph in 2013 entitled The Phantom of Wilson Creek. The first three scenarios can easily be connected as a campaign that covers three separate years or played as one-shots. Each of them is appropriate for home or convention play. The last scenario¸ The Strange Case of the Brown Mountain Lights¸ is more suitable as a one-shot for home play or as part of the short campaign above.
The Phantom of Wilson Creek and Other Tales includes:
- Four fully illustrated scenarios located in Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
- Information on North Carolina¸ Burke County and Morganton¸ Caldwell County¸ Lenoir¸ the Pisgah National Forest¸ Wilson Creek Edgemont¸ Mortimer¸ Brown Mountain¸ and Brown Mountain Beach.
- A section on research pertinent to the Campbell House and its strange past and a timeline of events connected to the house.
- Six detailed mythos tomes local to the area.
- Several mythos horrors and seven fleshed out NPCs who might act as allies to the investigators¸ as well as typical townsfolk.
