Take part in a story meant to show the connection between the spirit world and what you are taught about history¸ life¸ and power in the modern era. Here or in other Zah Yest stories you can test your bravery and resolve on a path of answers and solutions in a world with many "unthinkable" truths and "unwinnable" battles we perceive but are conditioned to ignore. This campaign¸ compatible with fifth edition of the world's oldest RPG¸ begins to dip into the layers of reality defined by the setting. There is a main storyline and "If" branches to allow player choice within the overall plot. "The Path of Resistance" takes elements from the fringes of human experience and forms them into a vivid and moving story full of purpose and revelatory hope in spite of dystopia leading toward calamity.
This campaign is designed to take characters from Level 1 to Level 5¸ then most of the last chapter is for Level 5 characters. Minimum GM encounter rolls and the main plot achieve the recommended levels. For parties of more than 4¸ characters can achieve recommended levels in the book using enemy count¸ challenge¸ or encounter count¸ whichever GM prefers. Each chapter is long¸ and the book could be considered a "3 act" story like classic plays¸ or in terms of time¸ "3 seasons" each with a story arc within the main story (plus the prologue¸ which is designed to introduce the players to the world). The book contains over 30 full-color illustrations¸ over 100 total including symbols¸ maps¸ and characters. The play test took about 50 hours (excluding prologue) but play time may vary.
