The Nightmare

The Nightmare is the first chapter of a 3-adventure horror-themed miniseries designed for second tier characters that continues with The Monsters Within and finishes with The Star Pact. In this adventure the characters wake up in a barren land¸ without any memories of how they got there. Without any clear escape route and left alone to fend for themselves in the ever-changing hostile world¸ they must prove able to survive the eldritch monsters that haunt them and finally escape from the dream-prison they are caged in. This adventure includes optional custom rules to handle stress as well as a custom mechanic that allows your players to manipulate the nightmare they are trying to escape. Although any of the three adventures above can be played as a one-shot¸ I wrote this trilogy as an interlude that can be fit into a campaign. I tried to include as many chances as possible to add your own plot hooks if you decide to include this trilogy in your own story. I expect to be able to publish the second and third parts within a week¸ so stay tuned!
