The Cook Class
After a harrowing journey¸ a climactic battle¸ a daring escape¸ adventurers always find themselves resting by a hearth¸ in a tavern¸ and they eat their fill of the local cook's finest goods. But¸ what if the Cook joined the fray? Practitioners of the oldest form of life-giving: sustenance itself¸ Cooks call upon the innate flow of magical energy within a body to bolster their allies beyond the conceivable. Each Cook keeps to their own standards¸ and these are what define them. Sous Chefs believe in the potential of their allies¸ pushing the limits of their power. Mess Sergeants study the capabilities of a body¸ their own body to be exact. Hash Slingers walk the line between food and poison in their cuisine¸ masters of debilitation. Brewmeisters get their allies literally drunk on power. Monster Mashers take the strengths of the monsters they slay and hand that strength to their friends in a dish. You must decide what path is right for your party. Updates for v2.1 You now learn your 15th morsel at 17th level instead of 18th level to better line up with when you have access to your 17th level subclass morsel. Smelling Salts has been reworked. If used on a creature¸ it cannot be used on that creature again until that creature finishes a short or long rest. Also¸ when you reach 17th level¸ the repeated saving throw is made with advantage. The wording has also been changed to be cleaner and more intuitive. The food created from Soul of Food no longer lasts for a week¸ but now has a defined worth of 100 gold pieces. Sous Chef's We Deliver and Hash Slinger's We Deliver Death's ranges have both been reduced to 30 feet to add to their feasibility and to encourage Cooks to think more tactically about positioning and movement in Combat. Sous Chef's Aromatic Sweat has been changed to Aromatic Scent to allow players to visualize it in a diversity of ways. It also now gives casters the option to use a reaction to cast an offensive cantrip with the given reaction. Sous Chef's Monkey's Brains now works like a legendary resistance. Clarified that Legendary Morsels don't count against the total number of morsels that you can prepare. Hash Slinger's Horrific Stench now subtracts 1d4 from hostile creatures' ability checks as well as their saving throws. Brewmeister's Boozy Yield now gives intoxicated creatures resistance to bludgeoning¸ piercing¸ and slashing damage from nonmagical weapon attacks. Cow Innards now affect creatures that can smell the target instead of creatures that can see the target. _______________________________________________________________________ Emmet Byrne has created a comprehensive Cook specific character sheet as part of his Character Sheet Bundle.
