The Story Deck for the Temple of Despair module (Roll-With-It) contains 20 unique cards that bring variety¸ theme¸ and extra surprises to your game. This Story deck is designed to be used exclusively with the Temple of Despair adventure module.
NOT A STANDALONE PRODUCT. MUST HAVE THE FORTRESS OF TERROR CORE MODULE AND THE TEMPLE OF DESPAIR MODULE TO PLAY.
What are Story Cards and Why Use Them in the Game?
a completely optional addition to your game¸ and not required for play story text on each card will relate directly to the adventure module you are currently playing each deck has some general cards that go with the adventure module each chapter of a module will have several "chapter-specific” cards that are added to the deck and switched out when moving from chapter to chapter each card has the possibility of a small game effect along with the story text gives a unique twist to each game
How to Use Story Cards:
Select the Story deck that matches the module being played At the beginning of each Chapter¸ create the Story deck using the following: the general cards (that do not state a chapter nor a chapter symbol at the bottom of the cards) the cards marked specifically for that chapter at the bottom of the cards remove any cards that refer to other chapters that you are not currently playing Shuffle the Story deck and place it near the play area During play¸ at the end of each Roll Dice phase (Phase I)¸ draw a Story card¸ read the text and apply any effect as instructed. Then place the card in a discard pile next to the Story deck. If the deck becomes empty¸ do not reshuffle - no more Story cards will be drawn during that chapter.
