Full Conversion
This is a full conversion to D&D 5e of an all-time AD&D classic. Along with the Gauntlet this has to be one of my favourite AD&D adventures of all time. This adventure has everything you could want out of a tier 1: a mystery requiring detective work¸ some bold action needed to resolve the mystery¸ and a dungeon crawl with a classic BBEG. What more could you ask for?
This conversion guides the DM with how to run the various encounters¸ especially early on while the party is solving the mystery¸ along with guidance specifically for 5e on what spells and abilities might be most helpful¸ with rules clarifications and what to look out for. NPCs have been converted to default 5e stat blocks wherever possible and a new stat block is included to make the BBEG more easily playable.
Everything you may need has been included here¸ including skill checks for locks¸ secret doors¸ the various traps¸ Insight and Perception checks¸ as well as guidance on use of Detect Thoughts. It also includes a full treasure conversion - the complete treasure included in the adventure has been totally replaced with a 5e friendly version¸ including magic items.
Every Encounter has been tuned for a group of 1x 1st¸ 2x 2nd and 2x 3rd level characters playing the adventure. If you are milestoning¸ then it most suitable for a party starting at 2nd or 3rd.
As a bonus there is also guidance on setting the adventure in the Forgotten Realms on the Sword Coast¸ where most published adventures are set these days.
Included is a reader friendly version and a print version missing out images and the watermark to avoid drinking your ink cartridges dry.
