Raid on Ashkashem (d20)
![]() |
Welcome to Operation PAVEMENT.' With those words¸ Captain David Hensley sends operators from the United Kingdom's Special Force Group on a mission for the Increment. The team covertly inserts into the former Soviet Republic of Albenistan¸ planning to raid a waystation for drug traffickers. Cut off from further support¸ the Increment team must overwhelm a multitude of heavily armed and dangerous opponents. The realization dawns that this might be more than just part of a drug network. But the operators of the Increment must survive in order to get the evidence back to their superiors. Even for the highly trained operators of the Special Forces Group--the SAS and SBS included--that might not be as easy as it sounds. The Secret Intelligence Service may not have had all the intelligence it needed.

Dallas Parsons at d20 Zines says: "Raid on Ashkashem does a good job of creating a scenario that could very easily occur in today's world. With much of today's struggles centering on terrorism¸ the players could immerse themselves in such an adventure."
Wyrdmaster at Gamewyrd says: "We've actual aerial photographs marked up with various objectives. This is another attempt to get that realism. I've seen this work and seen this fail badly. I'm not sure what the pit traps are but Sword's Edge Publishing manage to make it work for Raid on Ashkashem."
Nick Mulherin at Silven Crossroads says: "Also¸ the writer pays a lot of attention to detail; for instance¸ he details the contents of rooms exhaustively. The base¸ at least to me¸ made sense and felt lived-in."
