Outer-Rim Cantina
![]() |
The galaxy is shaped by one thing:
Cold Hard Cash.
Whole planets rise and fall based on how easily their resources and people can be harnessed¸ and how much profit their products make on the open market.
Of course¸ in order for the capitalists to take their cut and build their fortunes¸ someone's gotta move these goods and resources around the galaxy. This hard¸ thankless job lands on the shoulders of freelance ships. The pay is by the job¸ so these people have to work hard to make ends meet. One failed gig can lead to years of work being gone in the blink of an eye.
Just off the galaxy's busiest trade route sits the Al'za Cantina. Due to it offering cheap drinks¸ food¸ and cots¸ it's become a meeting place for freelance pilots and everyone else on the lower rungs of society. A venue where they can meet up¸ share war stories¸ and plan the next leg of their journey.
Because of this¸ corporations started to post their latest job offerings in the Cantina¸ keen for freelancers to see them.
This means that the Cantina has become a busy place. A space where a million lives tangle into one knot of passion¸ fear¸ and conflict. With each passing day¸ this only gets more intense.
Inspired by the legendary Star Wars cantina scene¸ Outer-Rim Cantina casts players as freelance space pilots trying to survive an unforgiving universe.
This rules-lite¸ LARP-inspired game has two distinct sections. In the Cantina sections¸ the pilots all gather in the Cantina¸ sharing war stories and looking for their next job.
As they do¸ they can gather intel that will help them navigate the universe and make their jobs easier. But they have to be careful as if they take too long¸ another pilot might take the job¸ forcing you to embark on a mission you're unprepared for.
After the Cantina section is done¸ the Job phase begins¸ where the players use their stats and gathered buffs to see if their latest gig goes off without a hitch or if they end up in trouble and in debt.
As the game goes on¸ players will create and flesh out an entire galaxy full of stars¸ planets¸ events¸ and organizations¸ and this world can be used in other games.
