Lair of the Bull Demon

This adventure¸ or adventure fragment¸ for fairly high-level characters could be placed in several different settings. It was originally run in the Westwood of the Black Mountain District. The adventure could then be fleshed out using encounters from Overland Travel in the Westwood. The adventure could be part of a longer tale in our Silk Road setting and additional material could come from Overland Travel in the Silk Road Setting. It wouldn't be too difficult to set this in the underworld beneath the great city of Old Meyoss or some other urban environment and use Urban Encounter Tables. Or you could put it in an adventure of your own devising in a setting of your own devising. This is one adventure where out usual method of putting a party together¸ using whomever happens to be there¸ not making sure to have some careers and hoping we won't need someone who isn't there¸ won't work. If the party does not have an Initiate or Hedge Priest or more than one¸ the adventure might be too interesting.
The characters in the Westwood adventure arrived at this location because they were told that a group of travelers had reported that they had found a door into a hillside. The oddity of the thing had made them want to investigate but they had business to conduct and couldn't remain. They also reported that they had found a campsite where four travelers had been slaughtered and the attackers had apparently killed the valuable livestock. They were not sure that the killings and the door into the hillside were connected but they were in close proximity. On the day before they arrived at the location¸ they found six forest bison¸ slaughtered and butchered in a crude fashion but not eaten. No scavengers other hand insects seemed to have approached bodies either.
Fitting that start into any wilderness or rural setting should be easy enough. Putting it into an urban setting would take some adjustment.
