Holiday Horrors: Blood in the Snow

Introduction 'Blood in the Snow' is a quick-adventure for a party of four 3rd level characters. Very little adaptation should be necessary to use in any campaign setting.
Adventure Background
It started with a harmless contest between two neighboring communities: Edmiran and Cantre. The people of Cantre¸ having lost one too many years¸ returns home full of bitterness and ire. Something unseen and unknowable lights the fire of their hatred and promises them the power to finally bring down their long-term rivals once and for all. The people¸ blinded by their pride allows this entity to trick their sense of reason. Several nights later¸ while Edmiran attempts to discern why their neighbors have all grown quiet¸ a series of attacks begin to plague them nightly.
Every night¸ violent snowmen attack the people of Edmiran¸ only to leave behind pools and puddles of water when morning comes. Unable to withstand the nightly barrage any longer¸ its people call forth a group of adventurers to aid them in their desperate plea to be saved from the monstrous snowmen before both communities are no more.
