Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - Fall Escape

As the air grows cooler and the days grow shorter¸ the city of Waterdeep comes together to celebrate their courageous protectors on Brightswords Day. The City Watch puts on mock battles in a show of strength¸ the Navy proudly parades their ships through the harbor¸ and even the Griffon Cavalry riders race their mounts through the air. A simple tournament lasts the entire day¸ inviting recruits to test their mettle and prove their worthiness to enter the Guard.
Below the cobbled street of Waterdeep¸ through the caustic sewers and into the dripping lair of the Eye Tyrant Xanathar¸ a different sort of tournament is being held. Instead of fighting to show off their skills or attract new recruits¸ these city defenders are fighting for their lives.
Fall Escape is a oneshot supplement to the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist adventure book¸ which takes a group of 5th level characters through Xanathar's lair. This easily adaptable adventure is perfect for a fall campaign of Dragon Heist as it introduces the players to one of the other three potential villains of the book. Players take on the roles of city officials¸ trapped in a deadly game of cat and mouse with Waterdeep's greatest crime lord. The only rule in this game is to survive¸ because there doesn't seem to be any way to escape....
Fall Escape can be played over 3 or more hours¸ with up to 10 player characters.
