Dragon Egg Heist: A 5e One-Shot Adventure
![]() |
Steal the dragon's eggs under its nose...or die trying.
This adventure is designed for a party of 3-5 8th-level players and is meant to last 5-8 hours. Given the party's high level¸ somewhat experienced players are assumed¸ so the encounters are more challenging than most. What to expect:
A balance of exploration¸ roleplaying¸ and combat¸ A multitude of mutated new monsters¸ A beautiful¸ hand-drawn battlemap of the Dragon's Lair¸ A tense adventure¸ always walking the razor's edge! A self-contained adventure that can be played by itself or easily inserted into any campaign! Story overview:
The players start at the edge of a death-infested swamp. They have to cross it¸ then make their way across a river either by their own skills or by bargaining with a greedy hobgoblin alchemist.
After that¸ they reach the ruins of Riverheart. The town's former castle has given way to underground chambers infested with the dragon's snakefolk. The dragon itself is sleeping in a river of acid¸ where the three eggs are also located. The players will have to overcome increasingly challenging obstacles to obtain each egg. If they get too greedy-or unlucky-the dragon rouses from its slumber and faces them in combat.
