Plagued by nightmares¸ the investigators gather at a Boston diner only to encounter strange children with a sinister secret. What are they hiding¸ and how does it relate to the investigators? And what does Pastor Michael Thomas have to do with all of this?
Set in the 1920s¸ Cat's Cradle is a standalone sequel to the classic introductory scenario The Haunting¸ available as part of the free Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Quick-Start Rules. Cat's Cradle can be run independently¸ and provides an even richer experience when at least one investigator in the party has experienced and survived the events of The Haunting. As a sequel¸ Cat's Cradle can take place immediately following The Haunting or several years later. Additionally¸ it includes an appendix with recommendations for ensuring compatibility with several The Haunting-adjacent scenarios and resources.
This 54-page¸ sandbox-style scenario offers a darker tone and heavy investigation. Featuring 8 standard handouts plus 10 dream handouts¸ a map of Boston¸ and a visual aid for ease of Keeper navigation¸ Cat's Cradle is a slow burn scenario likely to unfold over multiple sessions and is intended for 2-5 players.
