Great for new players and keepers! Not too many NPCs to keep track of and easily expandable. The story works best with 1-4 but can still work well with 5+ new investigators or imported ones. This story typically takes one or two sessions to complete and is easily expanded.
Sunday¸ October 13th¸ 1996¸ agents from the FBI headquarters in Washington D.C. are sent to the small town of Fogwood Oregon where previous agents from the Portland Field Office concluded a missing person case six days earlier¸ but concerned citizen Duane Walker isn't satisfied and hasn't stopped writing and calling the FBI everyday since. Normally the FBI wouldn't worry about a closed case but a new team has been assembled to test agents that have made questionable decisions¸ or possibly pursued work in a suboptimal branch¸ before allowing them to continue their careers. This seemed to be a mundane enough case to monitor their behavior¸ but these agents will find that not all is as it seems when upon arrival they witness the mauling of Duane Walker by household pets that shockingly revert to their normally friendly moods immediately after. Agents will need to find clues and interrogate citizens to discover the cult of Mordiggian that plans to wrest power from all who oppose them using a spell borrowed from the god himself. It should be noted that though dogs are involved in these monstrous attacks¸ at no point will harming any animal be necessary in progressing the story. It will in fact make the agents' jobs a bit more difficult. Dog catcher and animal lover Cliff Foster will show agents how to render dogs harmless without hurting the poor guys but may not be as helpful to cruel agents.
