Beyond the Brine



A fishing town is plagued by attacks from sea creatures and asks a group of heroes for help. They believe their town cursed by a strange woman¸ who reveals herself to be a merfolk in disguise. The merfolk is running from ocean powers greater than herself that would drag her to a world she no longer belongs within.
The betrayal of the ocean's natural order stirs storms on the sea and draws a dangerous marine presence to the surface. The merfolk must sever her ties to the sea¸ or the town could be destroyed by an ocean ruler that seeks to deny the merfolk her happiness as herself.
This short adventure is intended for a party of 4¸ of character levels 10 to 12. Content warning for transphobia¸ descriptions of blood magic¸ and self-harm.
