Bardic College: The College of Drag
The half-elf bard who calls herself Raven Loft Davenport realized at an early age that she was different from many of her friends. She counted herself fortunate with regard to her parentage¸ as her parents¸ themselves often misunderstood and even shunned by many because of the choice they made out of love¸ were more supportive of her than others would have been. She grew up in a nurturing environment and was therefore free to express herself and her artistry in the way she wanted. She knew¸ however¸ that in many other places in the world¸ those like her were not so fortunate. For the last five years¸ she has dedicated her life to traveling the world and bringing beauty and joy and music wherever she goes¸ with the fervent hope that she can also promote acceptance and respect. Maybe somewhere along the way¸ she'll be able to gather her sisters and maybe even start a House of her own... Inspired by the boundary-transcending popularity of "RuPaul's Drag Race" and the colorful history of drag culture¸ here are homebrewed rules for a new bard subclass option: The College of Drag. Create a drag queen (or king) of true charisma¸ uniqueness¸ nerve¸ and talent with these complete rules for level progression¸ with some optional/variant rules to provide a little more flavor to the game and some suggested adventure hooks. The rules are prefaced by a short write-up on drag culture in history and in pop culture. Why is the drag queen a bard¸ you may ask? Because¸ simply put¸ the drag queen is a true performer and entertainer whose level of talent is almost certainly magical. Can I get an Amen up in here?
