Terrible monsters creep in the shadows¸ all over the world. Some¸ driven by very particular needs¸ have a clear modus operandi that allows those with knowledge to identify them by the aftermath of their deeds. Others are less readily identifiable-and some are not monsters at all¸ or not completely. Events beyond control¸ and motives no one would condemn¸ have led some to cross the line that separates monsters from the rest of us.
A seemingly straightforward investigation leads to a horrifying conclusion as the player characters discover that their quarry is not what they first thought. Uncovering a tragedy instead of a predator¸ how will they react to a foe who-but for some bad luck-could have been any one of them? While it is certainly true that evil begets evil¸ it is also true that when love drives us¸ good and evil become blurred¸ and even irrelevant.
