A Final Task

An uneventful trek through the wild country between quests is disrupted by three kobolds requiring aid. Their master has died¸ and his final wish to his servants is that they return his ashes to his ancestral land. They have been promised a posthumous reward for conducting this final task. Question is¸ can they be trusted? And why do the locals seem to want to hinder them at every turn? An adventure for 5 3rd level characters This is technically version three of this adventure. Changes were implemented for clarity after running it for my party to help a DM who doesn't have the story burned into their own brain.
