Eons ago¸ an aboleth foresaw its true death¸ and being of a mind that its knowledge and wisdom should not be lost to perpetuity¸ it found a way to psionically record its knowledge and life experiences onto a giant pearl. Its fellows followed its example¸ building the pearl into the largest storehouse of history and information to be found anywhere -- the Aboleth's Pearl.
