Star Thrust Racers - Space Racing in the 22nd Century

Star Thrust Racers is a fast-paced¸ dynamic¸ multi-player game system designed for the use of 3D spaceship models/miniatures (many of which are available via Shapeways.com ) on hex gridded game surfaces. Each player controls one Space Racer and will race around a pre-set-up racecourse. The first player to cross the finish line wins but unscrupulous opponents are never far behind.
Star Thrust Racers is a risk-taking¸ nail-biting¸ fast-playing sci-fi racing game with quick-setup times . Players do not have to wait long for their turn to move or resolve combat. The basics are obvious¸ the first racer to traverse the racecourse and cross the finish line wins¸ although this is not as easy as it may first appear especially since your opponents are determined to beat you at almost any cost. Cheating is frowned upon by race officials¸ but only when viewed on their sensors -- outside sensor range it is a free-for-all out there in the vast black. You have been warned!

Choose Your Engine System Carefully . Your corporate sponsors will offer you several engine systems to install and power your Space Racer. You will choose one of these as your main power plant. Your corporate sponsors will also give you a few under-the-table cheat devices (Corporate Cheats) and you are free to purchase an illegal weapon system¸ or two¸ or perhaps purchase pilot skills instead... this is all up to you! You are¸ however¸ recommended to purchase at least one weapon system. Then you'll at least be able to return fire upon unscrupulous competitors. May the best pilot win the coveted Star Thrust Racers Championship Trophy!
Risk-Taking is Encouraged! Completing maneuvers successfully is what it is all about¸ shaving off a few seconds here and there off your time¸ but this is never a sure thing. The game movement system is alternating¸ but your strategy is what counts. Play it safe and you will come in third or fourth place. Take risks¸ fly fast¸ ignore fear¸ run at full throttle through ever-shifting fields of asteroids and you just may have a chance at winning the race! Those who dare win or are at least are remembered by those who do. Fly hard; win hard!

Star Thrust Racers rules are designed to be played using 3D ship models/miniatures on a hex game surface or using the 2D PDF playing pieces provided with the game. Playing on a hex game surface allows players to move and maneuver quickly and easily¸ speeding up gameplay.
