LETHE - SHEAR Mission 001
Presumably¸ you won the battle. After all¸ the broken shells of destroyed machines lie scattered around you¸ along with about a thousand empty shell casings and enough localised damage to suggest someone called in an artillery strike.
Except that can't have happened. You're indoors¸ sealed within a cathedral of metal which reeks of engine oil and blood and there doesn't seem to be any sky. Surrounded by strangers¸ all as confused as you¸ none of you seem to remember who you are¸ what you were doing or why. As far as any of you can tell¸ you're in Hell.
Good thing you've still got a few bullets left.
LETHE is an introductory mission for the SHEAR roleplaying game. This mission is designed for players of any experience level with roleplaying games - including none whatsoever. In fact¸ it can be run by Narrators who are familiar with the Seven Hills setting¸ even if their players are not! So long as the Narrator is familiar with SHEAR's rules and all players are given a deck of cards and one of the pre-generated characters found at the back of this mission¸ then it is possible to run this mission without players having even read the SHEAR Core Rulebook.
