100 Rumours to Hear in: Urth 2
This is a collection of 100 different rumours that could be overheard or uncovered in the official Urth setting. Some refer to things that are definitely true¸ others are distortions of the truth or outright falsehoods¸ although it is up the GameMaster as to where any individual rumour uncovered is true.
These can be used as a source of adventure hooks to get characters to travel to an area or interested in investigating something¸ or they could be a source of background colour or red herrings when characters are inquiring after information related to other matters.

Here are some sample results:
- Princes Nicolaus and Uri¸ the twin sons of King Frederick of Balgrendia¸ are both plotting to seize the throne from the other on their father's death. Now there are rumours that they have been looking for outside aid as well¸ with representatives of both apparently having visited such as King Drudge in Caecras¸ the Matriarch of the Cult of the New God and Kem in the Confederacy of Nine Cities. What they are offering isn't known¸ but Balgrendia does have resources of value. They are also rumoured to be looking for skilled mercenaries to help them¸ with promises of land and titles.
- Reavers have been raiding further afield recently. Normally raiding out of the Patchwork Lands into the March Lands and Balgrendia¸ there have been rumours of some Reaver bands reaching the Low Country and the Confederacy of Nine Cities. What's most worrying is that the bands managed to get that far north without anyone noticing.
- Recently there have been signs of increasing numbers of scarred and mutilated people cropping up in major cities. What's weird about them is that all the injuries appear to be self-inflicted. These injuries have reportedly only been seen by accident¸ when clothing slipped¸ and the marks have been quickly hidden again. Which does lead to another question - how many people are there like this who haven't been discovered or noticed? Presumably many more. And what would lead people to self-mutilate in this way?
- Representatives from Kem in the Confederacy of Nine Cities¸ or perhaps more precisely from the Vault¸ have been visiting the Lord of Castaron¸ the city that is one of Balgrendia's two ports. It was thought that Lord Castaron IX was looking into selling out to the Confederacy and joining it¸ but it seems there may be more to it than that. Reportedly¸ there has been an increase in the number of troops seen in the Sinking City¸ out of town mercenaries from all appearances. The Confederacy may be planning to seize far more of Balgrendia that Castaron.
- Sailors from more than a few ships that have recently docked in a number of the Confederacy's cities have made claims about a bizarre fleet they have seen in the distance. The ships did not look to be made of wood and their sales were ragged enough that it was surprising they could make way. Some sailors even claimed that the ships were crewed by the dead¸ not the living.
